My wife and I travel to Paso from Fort Worth every year or so in an effort to stock up on the good stuff. You see, we know that the region is relatively undiscovered (at least in Fort Worth, TX where we live) and certainly under-represented at retailers and restaurants so we are forced to visit the source. A labor of love, you could say. We prefer the spice, subtle astringency, and complex sophistication of Rhone varietals from the Central Coast over boring, overdone Napa juice. Our
cellar is stacked with Paso GSM. We absolutely love it.
On our last trip, somebody along the way mentioned Epoch - the new winery out a little further west. We came; we tasted; we were blown away. Your tasting room people were incredibly courteous, enthusiastic, and informed. The wines were balanced and layered in complexity with
beautiful length - a near-perfect expression of westside terroir. As connoisseurs of new-world Rhone blends, we can say the experience was about as exceptional as one could expect. We were made Epoch fans and advocates instantly. This was our Epoch moment.
You have set the bar a bit higher - thank you for that. We gleefully welcome your bottles to join other friends from Paso in our cellar.
We look forward to visiting again soon.
