Pull a bottle of our '08 Tempranillo from the cellar, taste, and tell us what's going on in there...tough mission, we know ; )...
Pete accepted, and below are his thoughts.
The warm summer heat of 2008 produced wines of exceptional power and impact. This is immediately apparent in the 2008 Tempranillo, as it delivers big aromas of red cherry, plum, dried cranberry, currant, with a hint of watermelon rind. Behind the fruit lies a complex mélange of leather and spice such as sage, clove, nutmeg, and beachbrush. On the pallet, this wine is full of mouth-watering texture, as the oak integrates perfectly with the big Tempranillo tannins that have mellowed considerably with age. This wine is ready to drink and does not require decanting. I recommend opening this wine now or perhaps over the coming holiday season. Enjoy! - Peter Turrone, Associate Winemaker
