MY BIO BY WINEMAKER JORDAN FIORENTINI
Authenticity is as sophisticated and elegant as the perfect black dress, however, she’s got a hint of spice, accentuated by the tease of a slit up her skirt leg. She wears the power of Paderewski’s steep limestone hillsides gracefully and will become more supple through the years. Red plum and Bing cherry, worn leather, dried tobacco and sweet wood unite with a palate laced in velvety red fruit, seared filet and dark chocolate. Her mouth-watering chalky tannins and acid backbone ensure that she will be in style for quite some time.

Smell and sip our 2012 Estate Blend and channel your fondest cowboy or cowgirl memories – worn leather saddle, tobacco, dried fall leaves, plum, sweet soil – and this wine takes you there.  Now, give your cowboy a scholarly side, and we’re approaching the complexity in this bottle.  The wine enters with great juiciness (thank you, Grenache) and becomes very intricate by mid palate.  Syrah and Tempranillo contribute ripe tannins on the finish to fill out the wine’s body. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

MY BIO BY WINEMAKER JORDAN FIORENTINI
The 2012 Ingenuity will invade your being with West Paso, as its aromas and flavors hit all the senses; there is no denying its roots. While both feminine and masculine character, this wine tells the tale of Rhône grapes grown on our calcareous and fractured shale hillsides - intense, bright, intriguing, juicy, mouth-watering and spicy! With its explosive combination of black, blue and raspberry fruits, sweet licorice, blood orange, grilled herbs, tartare and violets, Ingenuity does our beloved terroir justice with a rollercoaster of flavors.

2012 Rosé

Catapult and Paderewski Vineyards, Paso Robles
43% Grenache | 34% Syrah | 14% Cinsault | 9% Mourvèdre
389 cases produced

“Sittin’ on the dock of the bay”... Fastforward to your happy place with a glass of Epoch’s 2012 Rosé.  Intentionally unpretentious, our rose is the alter ego of the Rhône grapes, seemingly a white wine despite being made from only red grapes. Made in a true provençal style, from red grapes gently pressed and handled like white grapes, Epoch’s Rosé is as sophisticated as you want it to be: white linen jacket or your grubby t-shirt.  Crack this puppy open and unleash the true essence of summer. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Aged for 12 months in a concrete egg and 4 months in neutral French oak puncheons
274 cases produced | unfined and unfiltered

Drumroll… our 2012 Sensibility is 100% Grenache!  And Grenache purity is what you will get! This wine is the result of an experiment to age our Grenache in concrete for the first year of its life, which helped preserve its intense aromas and enhance its minerality and texture.  The aromas and flavors are irresistible – tart berry, fresh whipped cream, blood orange and a touch of vanilla – which combined with Grenache’s pure chalky tannins, help fine tune your senses. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Serious wine alert! Beyond its vibrant youthfulness, there is a deep soul to the 2012 Veracity that will remind you of all the reasons why wine is wine.  The aromas, flavors, acid and picante tannins all merge together to create a unique balance unto only this wine.  Reminiscent of the Southern Rhone wines that inspired its inception, yet so obviously born of west Paso, this wine is only starting to reveal its true colors. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

MY BIO BY WINEMAKER JORDAN FIORENTINI
The 2012 Tempranillo conjures up all the melancholic, deliciously shiver-inducing sentiments of a perfect autumn day – dried leaves on forest floor, red plum compote, sweet leather and pipe tobacco. This new vintage has all the unforgettable and endearing sides of our beloved Spanish cowboy, while also displaying a soft youthful approachability. Layers of red fruit, brown spice and earth tumble around the front to mid-palate, gently leading to enough tannin on the finish to know this wine is Tempranillo without overdoing it.

MY BIO BY WINEMAKER JORDAN FIORENTINI
Reserve Tempranillo is a thick mustache-wearing, seasoned wrangler with some sharp edges alongside layers of softness that have developed after years of patience in the barrel.  Flavors of brown sugar, barrel spice, vanilla bean, sun-ripened red plums and dried tobacco leaves are so inviting and yearn for a cool evening curled up by the fire.  Next to his Rhone cousins produced at Epoch, Tempranillo is a dark and swarthy foreigner, however we love him just the same and marvel and his idiosyncracies.

White peaches and liquid minerality - Epoch's 2012 White has a racy Grenache blanc backbone with spice and floral elements from Viognier and a little Roussanne to round out the palate.  This was our first year fermenting and aging Grenache blanc in concrete, which gave us levels of texture, complexity and a purity of site. - Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

2012 Zinfandel

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
96% Zinfandel | 2% Mourvèdre | 2% Syrah
Fermented in concrete tanks and one-ton bins
Aged for 16 months in 35% new French oak barrels and puncheons
269 cases produced | unfined and unfiltered

Confucius says “Study the past if you would define the future.”  Ignaci Jan Paderewski was onto something when he planted Zinfandel in the limestone hills on our property back in the 1920s.  He knew then what we are finding out now – how complex and world-class America’s grape can be!  Our 2012 Zinfandel wows the senses with lush huckleberry, cream and warm briar notes, yet quickly shows more character depth with elegant structure and that special earthiness bred from our Paderewski Vineyard. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
