47 cases produced | Unfined and Unfiltered

In a given vintage, there is always a single lot of wine — from harvest to fermentation — whose unique character screams at us to leave it alone rather than including it in a larger blend.  Creativity is just that, and what we call “winemaker’s choice.”  There is no plan for what Creativity will end up being from year to year, but it promises to always keep us on our toes.  Creativity represents winemaking experimentation, the chances we’ve taken in the vineyard and winery, and sometimes just pure delicious luck!  It is only fitting that we commence our first vintage of Creativity with the wine that brought this label to fruition, a single pick of Grenache from our Catapult Vineyard during the 2011 vintage.  Super limited in production, this wine will never ever be recreated! -– Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Epoch’s rose was created with Paso summer nights in mind.  Intentionally unpretentious, our rose is the alter ego of Syrah and Grenache, seemingly a white wine despite being made from only red grapes.  From fermentation through to the bottle, intense flavors of pink grapefruit and sweet lime continue to make us revel in this wine’s purity and freshness. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

With Don Juan suavity, our Tempranillo never lets us forget its Spanish roots.  Tempranillo is on its own time, and regardless of vintage, it is always very different than our other varieties.  We embrace its uniqueness and let it hang out in barrel and/or bottle for as long as is needed.  The coolness of the ’11 vintage is apparent in the brightness of fruit and acid in this wine as well as its tight tannin structure.  It begs for decanting (or drinking over a day or two), and then the true romantic emerges.  Always connected to the earth, red plum, violet, forest floor, black olive and cigar box flavors converge into a Tempranillo form of elegance. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Grenache is the headliner in Epoch's 2011 Veracity, a southern-Rhone inspired blend, showing the still velvety but also more muscle-y side of the grape in terms of structure and focus – think Lara Croft vs. Audrey Hepburn. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

No flabby feelings allowed for our Epoch white!  Our estate-grown Grenache blanc is the main player in our crisp and refreshing white Rhone blend, with smaller amounts of Roussanne and Marsanne adding spice  and complexity.  White grapefruit, citrus blossom and lemon oil aromas lead to a brightly textured palate, alive with citrus, wet stone and a delicious creaminess.  To preserve its delicate fruit, this wine was gently vinified and produced without exposure to oxygen or cold stabilization. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
