This wine is living up to its muse - Bill Armstrong.  Earning its name as "The Bill Wine" from the moment of blending, the 2010 Authenticity is complex and outspoken with many elaborate gears.  Its integrated stemy-ness brings its fruit and minerality to a whole new level of wine enjoyment. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Aged for 18 months in 52% new French oak barrels and puncheons
1,719 cases produced

Tasting the 2010 Estate Blend conjures up memories of harvest 2010 at our Paderewski Vineyard.  Being a combination of our estate-grown Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Tempranillo from undulating exposures and alternating shale versus limestone soils, we see the personality of our site shine through over individual grape varieties.  Indicative of the vintage, the fruit and tannin are beautifully ripe, yielding a plush, textured and lengthy wine weaving in and out of savory and sweet flavors: red plum, leather, savory meat, roasted herbs, chocolate and brown spice. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

2010 Rosé

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
65% Grenache | 18% Counoise | 17% Syrah
Fermented in neutral puncheons and stainless steel drums
250 cases produced (Tasting Room Only)

Giving respect to the Rose…a perfect balance and still complex.  Epoch’s first ever rose was made through a variety of ways: whole cluster pressing, destemmed berry pressing (with and without skin contact), and finally a small portion of saignee from one of our Grenache tanks.  This wine is bright and delicious with a myriad of fruit aromas and flavors: strawberry, raspberry, white peach, kiwi and a slight hint of fresh watermelon.  This wine is made for your hedonistic enjoyment today, tomorrow and throughout the next year! – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

2010 Sensibility

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
75% Grenache | 22% Mourvèdre | 3% Syrah

Aged for 18 months in a once-used French oak puncheon
87 cases produced

Predominantly Grenache produced from the Spanish clone, Garnacha 52, the 2010 Sensibility was, believe it or not, the sleeper wine from its vintage.  Fermented and aged in puncheon, we left this Grenache alone to chill a bit post harvest.  After 15 months in barrel, the wine started to come out of its shell and show its true (and oh-so-bright) colors.  In addition to the bright aromatic components, the texture of this little ditty is memory-making, reigning in the lushness, and making you thirst for another sip. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

2010 Tempranillo
- The Wine Advocate: Jeb's Best of 2013

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
92% Tempranillo | 8% Grenache
Fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks, and French oak puncheons
Aged for 20 months in 82% New French Oak
268 cases produced

This mouthwatering, one of a kind Tempranillo blurs the lines of how we think about wine; he is bright, juicy and playful yet serious in focus and structure, full and lush yet chock full of tannin, Californian yet Spanish.  You definitely won’t be bored with this in your glass! – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
Scores: WA 96; RR 96; IWR 94

2010 Veracity

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
69% Grenache | 23% Mourvèdre | 4% Syrah | 4% Counoise

Aged for 18 months in 41% new French oak barrels and puncheons
589 cases produced

Epoch’s 2010 Veracity is a juicy, layered Grenache based GSM grown on the slopes of our limestone-studded Paderewski Vineyard.  With its Grenache component fermented mostly in concrete, this wine’s minerality is subtly juxtaposed next to lush red fruit, citrus and white flowers - quite enticing.  Many of the lots that make up this blend were expressive co-fermentations of Syrah with Grenache and Mourvedre.  Counoise also makes an appearance for the first time to add spice and bright strawberry elements.  Don’t let Grenache wines fool you – they age just as well as Syrah and need time to open up. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
Scores: WA 94; WS 94;  RR 95;  IWC 92

2010 White

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
100% Grenache Blanc
100% barrel fermented
50 cases produced (Tasting Room Only)

As inviting on  the nose as it is on the palate.  Epoch Estate Wines' first white wine, this 100% Grenache Blanc is as inviting on the nose as it is on the palate.  Bright lime, lemon and grapefruit aromas accompany a hint of white flowers, apricot marmalade and grilled pineapple.  This white is a smooth-drinker with creamy citrus, fresh mango and lemon bar flavors.  Its full, mouth-coating palate is the perfect accompaniment to a variety of summer salads, sandwiches and fish dishes. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

2010 Zinfandel

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
83% Zinfandel | 14% Syrah | 3% Tempranillo

Aged for 18 months in 30% new French oak barrels and puncheons
129 cases produced

A beautifully-sloped east facing hillside at our Paderewski Vineyard is mecca for our Primitivo clone of Zinfandel.  Year in and out our Zinfandel walks a delicate line of intense lushness and a site-driven nuance, two traits that seem mutually exclusive until you meet this wine.  The 2010 Zinfandel is boisterous upfront, with striking boysenberry and berry brush character.  And then delicious layers unfold – candied lavender, dried summer brush, black licorice and smooth chocolate.  As the wine plays on the tongue you will find the definition of velvety tannin. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
Scores: WA 93;  WS 92;  RR 94;  IWC 92
